I'm back on the Huel for lunch today.
Pip and Nut honey vanilla almond milk, 130g Huel (vanilla 2.2)
Little water to slosh out the remainder from the thermos.
Wetter than when I've used oat milk in the past (oat milk seems to make it much claggier than this stuff)
Pretty sweet, but not unpleasant (to me) -

Had the berry granola for breakfast today .... I found it a bit gloopy, but perfectly edible.... it does have more sugar than the powder though. I'll stick with it for the 2 boxes I've got and see how I feel after that....
Quite liking the newer version of the bars as well.... -

new bars are a massive improvement

Still think it's nonsensical that they make food with it.
Food > Food Replacement > Food Replacement based Food

Powdered water: just add water.

Agree! Got a sample in the last delivery and it was, dare I say, nice.

first bite I was a bit meh, then had a bit more today....scoffed the lot!

Yo dawg.

Cheers, think I’ll have a crack. What’s the consensus for lunch substitutions - Vanilla or plain?
-
• #511
Vanilla for me, but I put a shot of coffee in it and drink it with milk instead of water
-
• #512
I alternate a bit between the two. Did 7 months of unflavoured only but have got a bag of the new vanilla, which I like.
Only problem is that the sweetened one makes me want to drink it earlier than I planned.
The unsweetened one is actually pretty good.

I prefer vanilla. I also put a shot of coffee in on occasion, and have it with water

Never had a sample in a single order. Mines recurring though, so maybe they assume I'm already bought in?

Can confirm MyProtein whole fuel is the same as Huel at half the price
-
• #516
Except for the 4g of sugar per 100g. The ingredients are a bit different.

Thanks everyone, vanilla ordered. lets see how this goes.
£10 off thing if anyone needs

Thanks. Ordered. I have been following this thread for a while and that was the financial incentive I needed to bite the bullet.
I'll be using it for lunches in place of expensive and crap sandwiches, or expensive pasties/chips, and sometimes for breakfast on early starts.

How are you finding it? Am considering ordering some. What flavour did you get?
-
• #520
hmmm yeah I didn't really notice that - it is sweeter, unnecessarily so. I was trying to work out what the difference is to make it have that much more sugar. Still it is significantly cheaper and basically the same so if that was a concern with Huel then I'd recommend it.

I've moved to Vegan protein this year and tastes pretty good, less creamy than whey but not any better or worse. Feel like it must be better for me.
-
• #522
I'm on the myprotein vegan blend and it's grim. I never dreaded whey but this stuff is so chalky.
-
• #523
Exactly the same here - I’m actually quite excited for some reason. Never thought that would be my feeling towards it

£10 voucher here too (Jamie Beecham)

Also, myprotein are using maltodextrin as a filler (like it is with things like Bisto) in whole fuel. That'll raise the glycemic load on top of the added sugar (rice syrup).
It's still lower in sugar than most normal food, which is good but it's cheaper than Huel for a few reasons.
2.3 new vanilla with strawberry flavour =
