  • Were the compression socks to combat a problem or just for comfort? I’ve been getting a slight reemergence of shin splints and thinking of giving them a whirl.
    Gave the shins a gentle foam roll yesterday, most painful thing EVER.

  • Tried them: for the craic/keep legs warm/marginal performance gainz/see if they help with ankle tendonitis.
    So far so good.

  • Shinsplints, as in multiple micro fractures to Tibia bone.

    Or Tibialis Anterior muscle becoming rock hard and trying to burst out of its compartment.

    A good test for the former is single leg hopping. If you can't manage 20+ decent hops without shin pain, then don't try running being as that's circa 500 hops per Km.
