Looking good, cool to see progress pictures with something so significant. Thanks for the details btw - Barry got back to my query pretty promptly.

Any news on a Volvo buyer? I'm starting to re-assess my finances as although the E39 is fucking brilliant, I want a faster family car.

My engine is out and ready to head of tother builder.
Same guy that builds engines for Andy Forrest.

I watched a vid about Andy's car at World Time Attack earlier this year, some insane bits of innovation in his build (chain drive to front hubs being one of them)

Unfortunately his hip replacement has run into issues and he’s been told not to drive a manual in future. Which, if nothing else, is a great excuse.
So the sale is off, I’ve just booked the Volvo into Centre Gravity for an initial examination prior to a suggested course of action to make it handle more like the 911 (insofar as that is possible).

Water in the fuel filter?

Passed yesterday by a notable car.
A 'J'-reg Renault 25.
Every dimension, every proportion, every ratio jarring to the eye. -

hmmmm
dem oldz JZ'as... iz temptz

• #39812
Think so. Apparently pretty straight forward to fix

Great transaxle though, especially on the turbo models. Pretty much the high point of the whole car.

how much is the big drug dealer's estate worth?
-
• #39816
it's nice that
-
• #39817
Very! If you could rustle one up that would be cracking.

My RS6 is in for a service today. It was meepling that it needed a service and that it needed new brake pads. It also seems it needs new front discs, new rear bump stops, new exhaust clamps, a headlamp washer jet and I've given them the go-ahead to investigate the oil leak from the engine. Gulp.

• #39819
I predict 6k
-
• #39820
8.
-
• #39821
Could be. Depends on where the oil leak is coming from. And whether I get them to fix it. Everything else should be rather less than that.
-
• #39822
Got the 'normal' brakes on yours then i assume?
-
• #39823
Yep. I'd never get a road car with ceramic brakes. Pointless waste of money. Particularly on an estate car. Front pads and discs are going to be £1,260 fitted. About the same as a set of tyres.

• #39824
The same as the cost for the material to rebuild my engine...... you guys with really nice cars always make me feel better!
-
• #39825
At a grand, not that normal ;)
It’s a bit nerve wracking, yes. However, dents and rust don’t get better on their own, and it had had paint on some panels over the years so this is a positive thing to do ultimately.
