If I'm racing and jumping straight back into a car to head home, I'll try to have a recovery shake ready, especially if I'm racing the day after but these days I just try and end a ride with a meal so that I eliminate the calories from shakes.
I TT on Torq and ultra race on service station food so can't really comment on Real Food™ :)sardines mashed-up with peanut butter
