Couldn't think of anywhere else to post this, and if it's been posted already ICBA to search.
Has anyone bought off amazon.co.uk from a Chinese seller? Doesn't have to be cycling related. Any dos and don'ts, hints and tips, etc?
TIA.

My girlfriends been using one for about a year now and it’s been solid

Bought a couple of this 20 inch ones, they came bad! both of them have gaps at their binding areas, one of them has a bigger gap so it lost its roundness.
So talked to seller and he/she said there is no problem with them, i should lace them up and tighten so the gap would disappear. Crazy?!!
Should i even try? -

That's a bad rim joint, this seller is out of their mind. I'm sorry 😕

I've had one of these for a while now. It's well made and has held up to a lot of abuse

I have had mavic rims like that. They build up just fine, the seller is right.

I bought them because they have 25mm outer 18mm inner width. Do you recall what is the outer width of these kinlins?

I don't remember sorry.
I'm currently running a 2.2" bmx tyre on it, though it'd only work with (and is drilled for) presta valves. So thinking about it maybe not so wide. If I manage to get the bike into a workshop sometime soon I'll measure it and report back -

Anyone ordered from spexcel? Was wondering about their thoughts on jersey sizing? Should I order up a size or?
-
• #6591
I got a jacket from them last year, XL seems to be a similar size to an XL in other brands I have. A little shorter than I'd like so if I was to order again I'd consider a XXL.
(I'm 6'3" and reasonably slim btw)

I am 6 foot tall, 10.5 stone, 36 inch chest and a large spexcel is a decent fit. no photos I'm afraid

Anyone any recent links to foakleys? Seems all the ones I can find now are bad quality going by the reviews or have got some random company logos on the lenses

I think the jerseys are pretty standard, its everything else that is a bit hit and miss. They might have different cuts though. I bought the fake Rapha pro team jersey last year, and its bigger than the equivalent rapha, but not a whole size bigger. For refrence I am a small in most things, but med in Rapha pro team / miltag skinsuits, and picked a medium jersey from spexcel

Nah, gonna ask a mate to lace them, don't have the hubs yet. I based my order on their detailed description and they also had some valve extension sets. I have other stores saved and always compared and I do believe this seller had something the others didn't but don't remember what.

Bought one of those jockey wheel extender cages from AliExpress on Christmas Eve, came on the 3rd of January which was pretty decent. It's a Rockbros one which cost £56 posted, much better than the £400+ of the Ceramic Speed OSPW, but still probably pointless and absolutely unnecessary.
Quality is decent, the SRAM versions have a 12t NW top pulley and 17t lower, bearings are full ceramic. Installation was really easily but does require the tension screw to be wound pretty much all the way in to clear my 26-28 cassettes. Couple of pictures below:
And on the bike, surprisingly quiet for alloy pulleys and the shifting feels better than the OEM pulleys, probably no difference though.

Can I use such thing with my 11-46 cassette and a 42T oval front ring?
-
• #6599
Can't see why not, although if you're using an mtb derailleur I'm not sure if the pulley cage fitting are the same as road for either sram or Shimano.

almost same question: Can i use them with a 10-42 cassette on a sram xd freehub?
I have a Chinese carbon saddle on my track bike! It's ones of those toupe copies. The part where the rails attach to the base of the nose of the saddle has come apart. Not entirely sure how it happened - maybe I hit a bump too hard when sitting towards the back of the saddle and that levered the front off?
In any case, its still ridable though, because the two rails themselves are still attached to each other. I think I'll just cover the whole area in epoxy and carry on.
