  • Seinfeld's 'Comedians in cars getting coffee' is now on netflix.

From the outset I was a downer on this show as it's a unapologetic blatant ripoff of welshy boy who played Kryten in Red Dwarf's show with the same format but Seinfeld being Seinfeld basically everyone was like 'well anyone can come up with that premise' which is a bit too 'well we're bigger than you so we're just going to take it and not give you anything'.

With that said though, the show is pretty good BUT (finally getting to the point it's being posted on the coffee thread and not the TV one) the coffee aspect is ridiculous. it's basically fetishising bad coffee, even the slow-mo, soft focus macro shots of coffee being made are all of terrible coffee being extremely badly made.

about 20 episodes in (one with Julia louise-dreyfus/Elaine) and they finally make it to a 3rd-wave coffee shop which serves a decent looking coffee and they even say "wow this is a great coffee" only to go on to complain it wasn't hot enough so they go up and complain and ask for it to be made hotter.

So yeah 'Comedians in cars getting [terrible] coffee' on netflix - 4/7

  • I’ve been watching it for a few years on and off and I don’t know why I do. Episode quality really depends on how well Seinfeld can “get on with” the comedian in that episode and the car aspect is woeful considering Seinfeld considers himself a big car collector, thinks he is really knowledgable about cars (he recently started a podcast about cars), and is pals with Leno.

My fave episode was the Louis CK one but now it’s been ruined for me due to the recent news of his sexual deviancy.

Also the coffee aspect is also terrible.
