And it didn’t survive?!
Yeah. The truck had be scrapped.
@Black_Rainbow_Project excellent news. Go do some sick jumps to stair rides.

It just needs the brakes sorting before I can ride it properly.
Someone had loosened the hose nut at the rear caliper so all the fluid is gone. So I'm going to fit all new hoses to both, new pads, and then fill and bleed them.
Apart from the brakes and a few rust patches, everything is perfect still. Suspension is buttery smooth, gears perfectly adjusted still and totally clean, tyres have no wear at all etc
Bought a new checkered top tube pad, and just got an unused, new old stock SDG big boy saddle from the States which is now on it.
When I can I'll be getting it repainted, get all the aluminium bits anodised black, and fitting some avalanche forks... Then it's back to jumping off stairs! :) -

I totally forgot just how HEAVY a 65lbs bike actually feels though! :)

Now if I could just buy my Big Air bmx back it'd be the icing on the cake! :)

My days, this is absolutely incredible news!! Congratulations fella, really looking forward to seeing a Current Projects thread on this!

• #5282
Probably not much point... It will look almost the same as it does now. :)

You know what I'd kind of love to see...

Hahaha... Fox suspension WISHES it was Avalanche!!! :)
-
• #5285
I'm considering building some 26x3" wheels for it though. Just because it can fit them too.

I was actually looking at the new Bos Obsys fork though... Would be perfect for the big link... Then I found out the price! £2400 is a bit rich at the moment. :)
-
• #5287
Congratulations on getting it back.
-
• #5288
£2400 is obnoxiously expensive alright but maybe in a few years when you can scoop one up second-hand for a reboot! To think I thought the 180mm 36s I just got for my Capra build was hench 😂

One of my favourite clips. :)
Love Kenny's interviews. -

I've read a LOT of really bad feedback regarding Bos's reliability, customer service, and parts availability... Just another reason to stick with Avalanche.
-
• #5292
Always liked this one. Glws.

• #5293
Yeah I've heard a lot of that too, I'm on a few YT Industries groups on Facebook and they used to spec them on their high end models before they changed to Fox, a lot of people not happy with reliability and customer service. Apparently beautiful when they work though! I'd be interested in taking a look at Öhlins new stuff too.

USD isn't exactly the easiest design to get right :(
-
• #5295
Yeah I heard the same. The stuff Craig does at Avalanche is such high quality and so reliable that maintenance is a non issue, and the designs are much easier to strip down and work on than most others. That's why he does so many modifications to other companies forks for customers...because he really knows what works.
I think if he ever decided to make an actual 'lightweight' race fork it would be a giant slayer in the fork market!
His rear shocks are truly awesome too!

Aye its a fuckin fortune, Im trying to justify it to myself but really struggle when Fox is so good now.

If ohlins bring out a upside down for MTB I'm buying no matter the cost, it'll be class.

Currently on the look out for a Gangsta, V1 or V2. Anyone thinking of selling? :-)

If I remember correctly Doc actually managed to rebuild it.
