Dig a pit in your garden 100ft deep and hammer a trail of frozen sausages into your lawn leading from the shed to the pit and chuck some in the bottom for good measure. Coat the sides of the pit in goosefat so there's no chance of escape. Catch the rats in the pit then either fill it in, lower a cat on a rope or drop a gallon of petrol and a match
errr perhaps its just the cats i've owned be (a) catching a cat to tie a rope on and (b) tie a rope on a cat is nigh on impossible. also some cats dont like rats at all.
