The E39 is pretty boss at towing. I was doing a good job of keeping up with a spirited MX5 in the twisties until @cake reminded me that we had a trailer on the back.
Also I think you’d look hench in an E Class. You’re a bit older than me so you might have the higher overall towing weight as standard when you passed your test, I can’t remember the cutoff date, but I think my overall towing weight can’t be >3.5t which is hard with car, trailer, and towing vehicle. Something like a RR or Land Cruiser makes that impossible for me.
