Yeah braked trailers are not without their disadvantages. Like having to reverse up a comedy steep alley blocked by a dump truck whilst towing a megaload of machine tools.
I'd opt for something heavy, with exceptional brakes and a lot of grunt.

Landcruisers are the mutts. They're more expensive than RR's here (secondhand at least.) Probably something to do with the relative service costs. My buddy had 400k miles on his LC. Still ran great until someone nicked it!
Wouldn't mind one of those odd FJ Cruisers for off road camping myself.
