Hey, I'm interested in any cassette gear you might come across, especially 4-tracks/portastudios, 3-head units, dubbing/replicators, walkmans, and anything Nakamichi.

3/4 tascam portastudios
A Fostex r8 tape recorder
2 Teac a3340 tape recorders (not sure about selling these yet)
Nakamichi bx1 in silver

It's been two years since I looked at this thread...super cool stuff. In fact my amp is on the wane; one of the speaker channels flakes out and my Fonz fist action isn't as effective anymore. Dunno if I have the time/energy to open it up so I'm subbed now...

Could you give me any idea of what you're after? I get offered technics systems all day long but never tried to sell any

What amp have you got? Could do a px on something ?

Its a Sony TA-3650

left channel typically drops off after a couple of mins. Switching it off then on and it sometimes kicks in only to fade after a min or so...

Play around with all the knobs and switches, especially the tape monitor, I bet the sound comes back to the dodgy channel

And yes, you were right about the speakers I found by the skip; Dynaco A-25s. The whole setup sounds f*cking amazing! ....even with the Beogram 4000! ;-)

Funny thing is I also found a pair on the street in awful condition a few yrs back, didn't realise what they were and threw them away after pulling the tweeters.

yeah, well, actually the rubbish chute to the skip. Flatmate came in and mentioned there was some speakers out, got them back and checked they worked and then spent an evening sanding off water ringmarks/and oiling.

No markings on them apart from 'made in Denmark' so didn't have anything to go on. Described them to Dazaa, he knew instantly, looked them up and he was right. Result!

Yep ive got a creek audio phono stage somewhere £90, can dig it out if interested

Its boxed like new, will get round to listing it one day soon, hoping for around £225

Also do you details on the machinedrum? Is it MK1 or MK2 ? UW? +Drive?
