Sad news. Frank and Louise are awesome. I've gone there often and happily. I can only hope that the new management make it as welcoming a place as it has been, and that the assurances that it remains vegan prove reliable. (I can't imagine that Frank and Louise wouldn't have been extremely careful about whom to hand it over to.)

That's a shame.

I went there recently for a union meeting which was catered by them afterwards. The food was excellent and I had planned to go back. I hope the quality will be sustained and they'll carry on being hospitable to the NUT/NEU.

We found they tasted a little sweet using alpro soya milk(the unsweetened one), a tiny splash of salt or cider vinegar may be needed. They were spot on apart from that tho.

My Xmas work lunch was a debacle... most of the food was pre-made and stuck under one of those "hot" lights to keep it "warm"... my risotto was pretty much stone cold by the time I got it and drier than a nuns chuff... the only saviour was the beer... that took 20 mins to get right.

Weird how these guys get paid to cook and I know I could do way better with a bag of rice and some mushrooms

For Christmas dinner? - do hazard a guess.

Although they thought my bowl of carrots was part of the trimmings, so tried to dive into that until the waitress explained it was actually my meal.

Also I had a great vegan meal at an Ethiopian place called Genet Cafe in Seven Sisters the other day. They do a big mixed platter thing that's served on a giant pancake. Worth a try if you're in the area!

All of Superdrug's own brand products have the little cruelty free rabbit on. Very cheap as well. Same for co-op own brand stuff.
