Yeah, check what the size limits are because if you get bumped up into the next band there will be a significant price increase to go with it.

Best place to get a (hopefully cheapish) 103mm square taper BB in London today?

Where was that CP thread where the guy was making a carbon folding biek and is it the same thing as those carbon folders on uByk for £3,500 + ?
-
• #88155
I'd try BLB and Condor. Let me know if they have any. I'm after one.
-
• #88158
Yeah that's the one. Thanks @Pifko and @umop3pisdn
And the answer is yes, it is the bike being sold for £3.5k and up on uByk

Is ‘cold pressed rapeseed oil’ any better than basic vegetable oil (ingredients 100% rapeseed oil), if so how?

Where can I buy 113mm square taper BB and one of these tomorrow in London?
Condor?

Any bike shop.

Ended up with a Token one from Evans (price-matched online). They've got them scattered all over from their stock checker.

The processes by which 'normal' oils are extracted (high-speed presses or in some cases IIRC solvents) use high temperatures which can destroy some of the nutrient content (Omega oils &c.); cold-pressed oils have more of these nutrients. They also usually have a stronger/more complex taste, which may make them better for dressings, salads, etc.

The carbon one? What did you pay?

Perfect answer, thank you.

Does anyone know why the newspaper hut outside King's Cross is gone? I rode past it just a few days ago but when I took a train yesterday it had disappeared.

not getting lucky with the 3/8 dome nut (not deep enough) .. Square Taper BB shouldnt be an issue I know.
-
• #88168
Yep, that one! They price-matched JeJames for £23.99.

Anyone provide a link to the "how far have you ridden this year" thread? I've UTFS but my skills ain't all that it seems.

Thanks, and thank @umop3pisdn for the cheaper option.
How come new nuts/bolts are necessary?
Will be interesting to see how 46-34, rather than the more normal (I think), 46-36 works.

The bolts thread into the big ring for the 50+, but the 46 uses nuts. Not sure why Shimano makes them that way, maybe it just wasn't worth the complexity for the 46 since the roller pitch circle is so close to the bolt circle that a flat ring is plenty stiff enough without the fancy shaping.

The close ratio is aimed at CX, 46/34 will be fine on a road bike. I haz 48/34 Campag on mine. Having a smaller big ring than usual means the inner ring is more of a bail-out, so you'll probably find yourself doing fewer from shifts than before.

Thanks for the tip!

Huh, interesting! The bolts in question seem annoyingly expensive (£39.99 at SJS + the cost of the chainring of course) which makes me think it's the better option to just buy a whole CX chainset, if I can find a 10 speed one (I had the RS500 in mind, but that is 11 speed, though whether that matters I don't know).

I expect that generic chainring bolts will be fine, if you don't mind not having the shape blend into the spider arms.
Ok, thanks !
Btw, you mailed the bike to one of my friend !
