Stainless Steel Case and Bracelet
Splash ResistantThe Family: Seiko 5
The Seiko 5 family has set the standard in affordable, rugged and stylish watches since 1963. Designed to be simple but serious, the Seiko 5 is so-called due to its five key attributes: automatic winding, displaying the day and date in a single window, water resistance, a recessed crown at the 4 o’clock position and a durable metal bracelet. Released in order to meet the demands of the revolutionary baby-boomer generation, the Seiko 5 collection is just as popular to this day, proof that expert craftsmanship and elegant design will never go out of fashion

Same 7S26 movement as in the much-loved SKX007 series of divers. Rugged and simple - no hand-winding or hacking on these.

Why is the bezel at 0.5 minutes?

You clearly have impeccable taste.
I've narrowed down my GS hunt down to one of two SS quartz models or one of two Ti spring drive models.
I'll probably be making a decision tomorrow night, when I'm about 5 pints deep of course.

0.5s are standard, cant remember if its an ISO 6425 requirement, It's been I while since I've read that.
I have 0.5s on my 16610LV for e.g.

That casing is horrific but they all apparently sold...
Yeah. There are watches and there are ugly ostentatious watches.

Don't you mean people that want to be thought of as 'watch connoisseurs'?

Because the old Explorer II was way too small and Trolex wanted to give a sympathy offering to people who can't afford the Steve McQueen?

These are dead good, rock solid watches. Don’t have one of those but one similar to the one Pisti posted for my younger brother

Reckon a nice murts strap could top it off

What's with the oddly stepped numerals on the Eterna?
Those Junghans are beautiful.

I don't understand myself but apparently it means something to people who actually dive and need to calculate decompression times.

Guessed it was something for people what actually dive. I like it but not sure bronze is for me; assuming it's fucking massive too...
-
• #24919
I have a dive computer for that and would never rely on a watch bezel to avoid the bends. My dive watches are a back up for time - nothing else.
Anything requiring actual decompression would need gloves so thick you would never be able to grip the bezel anyway.

whats the price on the Eterna

Two and a half I think.
Something worth knowing is that the alloy they used probably won't patina much.
So found this:
Looks like a perfect size and the right look over all. I feel like there have been quite a few members here who have experienced this watch at some point....yeah I know it ain't a £2K mink unicorn Grand Seikololex but I'm just asking if there is anything to be concerned about quality wise here? If so, what? And are there any other alternatives to look out for beyond what has been offered?
