It's part of growing up.
Although when you really grow up, you get a compressor and a pneumatic die grinder for jobs like this, then you can roll your own flap wheel using some emery cloth and a rod with a slot in it. The target is high speed and low pressure, a drill is painfully slow for cleaning jobs.
You can get a pretty beefy drill for 20 quid. Everyone needs one in their life. It's part of growing up. Mine must be ten years old and still going strong. Bit like this...
