Twist the bars down, move the levers up. Liking the ratiness
-
• #42953
Yeah bars need a lot of adjustment. Stem won't go in as the steerer is a bit rusty so need to sort that out before I set it up properly.

Saw a technique for that recently.
Get a wire coat hanger and fully unfurl it. Wind it around a clump of wire wool at one end, then put the other end in a drill. Put the clump of wire wool end in the tube, spin the drill and it'll de-rust your tube.

Huh, interesting. I was essentially going to do the same thing without the drill. Don't have a drill but do have a dremel so I'll give it a go tomorrow

Here ya go

Sweet. Greasing with the same tool is smart as well. I'll give it a shot.

Not a chance. When it comes to rising stems and falling top tubes, he's a mere beginner and I was doing it 12 years ago.

I was going to mention the bald head or the baggy jersey or the weird cable route but the thing most disappointing...
Deda carbon tape

Not that being bald is disappointing.

Excellent, using that idea.

Classic method, works very well. Add a bit of oil or WD-40 or something to make it less dusty.
-
• #42966
No, think they must be very well camouflaged.

Do you not see the shoddy finishing tape on the left hand side?
7/10 at best.

shoddy finishing tape
It was the shite finishing tape supplied by every bike company which drove me into the clutches of the self-amalgamating tape dealers.

They could save alot of money by leaving it out of the box, does anyone actually use it? Black LX evrtime

I'm surprised you had time to tape your own bars, with the heavy touring schedule of Judas Priest
-
• #42972
Flaking finishing tape is inevitable if you try to play by the rules and use the manufacturer’s stuff...but a good wrap is a good wrap

I can see how the confusion might arise, but the backlog in my current projects stack has really been down to the demands of running a fictional meth business

I'm calling this "bandlebars" and I suspect the owner is on here and they should know they have ruined a bike by giving it bandlebars.
Bike I'm building. Its ugliness shocks even me
