Bob Jackson 531c project

While I wait for the frameset, I have had chance to polish the Stronglight seatpost, and tape up the bars. First time I've done this before putting them on the bike, as all my other bikes have aero or sti levers!

Got a photo from BJ today, the frameset is done, and will be with me next week! YIPPEE!

A month.

Cold set to 130mm, two sets of bottle cage bosses, and paint. Flamboyant burgundy, with gold lug lining and white decals. I supplied the Reynolds ones, from H. Lloyd. As per the originals.

Yeah black or white, not red in my opinon. A very good time frame. I sent mine to Ellis Briggs who I believe contract the work out to Bob Jackson as they don't have enough space on the premises anymore. It has been nothing but trouble for me. Two months initially, then instantly sent it back as it has multiple things wrong with it. Still waiting to get it back now. Been another 10 weeks since I sent it back, over 4 months in total. Will definitely go direct to Bob Jackson in the future.

Arrived today, here's a few more photos before I get my kid gloves on and start building it!

Thanks! Nearly built now, I had a few hours to myself this afternoon. Spent it in the garage, with my Bianchi and Roberts looking on (in pity ? !)
Waiting for the brake and gear outer cable to arrive, fit cages, then it's done!

Beautiful job! But isn't that seatpost way above the max insertion Point?

Actually, I do have to check that, thanks for the reminder! There are reference marks at the back, so I'm hoping it's okay. I will look though.

That's a relief! The min insert is around 10mm inside the frame! Phew!

Thanks! Really pleased with it. Both brake cables and fm cable done now, but was late in the evening so no chance of a photo. Just waiting for some white gear outer cable to arrive now.
