  • I think I might take those wheels if you've still got them and are willing to post? Knobblies could be handy and I could just have a spare back wheel.

I also bought one of these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/282631114242. £24, rim and disc, 10-speed freehub, free postage. That'll do for the geared option.

Also bought some cheap SRAM TT-500 shifters so I'll go bar-con if I do run it geared. They'll also be handy if I ever decide to go full tourer on my other bike. I'll still be trying to get the MTB shifter working in the mean time.

I'm thinking if I get a second quicklink I can splice two bits of chain together and have a short chain/fixie option and a long chain/additional section that will be the right length for gears. I can actually switch between the two mid-ride then if I ever need to do that for some stupid reason.

    To do list:

    • cut down steerer or find some spacers
    • find a cassette
    • find a seatpost
    • buy some cheapo M5 bolts for 6-bolt cog
    • assemble everything.

Would be nice to have it done by Christmas.

  • I've had a wheelset come into my hands over the past week that's disc compatible, matches and I don't need it- so i'm more than willing to send it to you for the price of postage :)

Will try find a box and get back to you asap
