Great time of year to be looking too, wish I had done that and saved myself a few quid. Was it a 1.6? If not they're supposed to be even more free revving but slightly less torque.

I'll try one if there's one local but I think the extra torque will suit Mrs Hammer as she's quite lazy with the gearbox. It was a 1.8 1999 mk2 SE trim. Like this:

I think it was mainly the mirror but it does sound like I just need to recalibrate.
Loved how eager it was on the throttle though!
