Most self-storage places also sell boxes in a variety of sizes. They are not that cheap. I sold those that I bought on Freecycle. You might get lucky there because it's used a lot by people who move a lot.

Current headset that I have (stronglight A9 if I'm correct) was directly mounted on the frame I purchased and I did not chose it ; even if it is performing well I would like my bike to be 100% aligned with my taste
Keep the A9, and align your taste to it, it's a genuine classic. Tange is decent but colour anodising is nearly always an offence against taste, and I should know

Our house thermostat is on the blink. Came home and turned it up, no click. Checked everything obvious, went back to it, with some pressure on the dial it does click but about 10 degrees higher than usual! Is it just old and need replacing? Anything I can do to prolong its functionality?
I've been meaning to change energy provider for ages (rubbish at actually getting on the phone to them) - do they help with things like thermostats or is it just up to the occupier to sort? Not sure i want to go down the whole smart meter route, but maybe it's time...

McDonalds have hooked me up on many, many occasions. Boxes aren't massive but they're sturdy and free.

I'm after a Dia Compe Goldfinger (31.8mm RH), but everywhere I've found is o/s (even if they claim otherwise), as is Ison (until January): any reason I can't use a LH?
The lever looks symmetrical on the mount, it's just the screws and cable entry that differ. With tension on the cable I can't see that popping out.

You'll be fine.
(but -12 hipster points if you care about such things)

There's nothing hipster about anything Dia Compe, ever.

Hey,
my seat tube is 29.5mm can I 3d print a shim to go from 27.2 to 29.5?
Or should i just buy a metal one?
-
• #87890
in my bmx days (they're not over...honest) Dia Compe brake levers always were OS with a shim
-
• #87891
There are two versions now: 31.8mm and 25.4mm with a shim to 22.2mm. The narrower ones are readily available.
Which is ironic as he originally had 25.4mm bars, but I swapped them out as they were fucked... for 31.8mm.

" 25.4mm with a shim to 22.2mm"
ah, must be the one I'm thinking of

The quite possibly on-here **** who stole mine (plus Ultegra caliper) from on top of my bag in the middle of the track during a Herne Hill session has one.

I've foolishly volunteered us to help a charidee out with some pro bono work making a series of video courses. We've got the video intro and voiceovers done but need to do screen capture of a number of browser based applications. Quicktime can record the screen but is there a better, easier workflow? We need to capture about 8 hours of content in total, so looking for the most efficient way of doing this. Maybe with 'highlights' around the mouse etc as if we don't get this at point of capture we'll have to add manually which will be a ball-ache.

I need an API built and our in house tech team doesn't have capacity. I want to outsource the work.
I have an affiliate platform (cake) with an api that I need to pull costs into redshift (database).
I need to write up the description of the work required but thinking my exact knowledge of the area is going to hinder things. Anyone help? @HatBeard who else on here is tech?

Internal cabling, integrated cable stop where cable enters frame has been drilled out so no longer stops cable. I want to bond a ferrule into the hole to make it a stop again. It will be under constant tension, its for the front mech. Plastic or alloy ferrule to aluminium frame.
What sort of adhesive am I looking for? I never want it to move again -

Perhaps an obvious question but why can't your in house tech team write the performance spec? You will surely need them to confirm that the eventual deliverable is adequate?
Supermarkets often keep them for people who are moving
