This may eventually become my only road bike. I'm happy with 1x generally but I'd rather have the larger range in case I ever need it

I've just realised, the seat tube isn't circular below the front mech so it won't work after all ffs
-
• #429
Worst case scenario, I run full outer all the way to the rear mech but I'd rather not introduce the extra friction, I don't want to end up with spongey or sloppy shifting.

• #430
amazing, this is DBAD level of madness
-
• #431
especially given how sram front shifter shifts
-
• #432
Just go 1x, put Sram 1170 11x36 and a 42t narrow wide
-
• #433
I thought that might be a stop on the end of the curve.
I wonder if a stepped ferrule would be sufficient to prevent the cable passing through?
-
• #434
I only ever shift down when I get to a hill. There aren't too many of those around so it doesn't matter. Just that it goes one ring to the other eventually
-
• #435
Nope its just a closed loop around the inner, stop the cable coming out of the guide I suppose
-
• #436
I don't wanna! Going down hill fast is the most fun part. 42-11 isn't gonna get me anywhere quicker than walking pace.
-
• #437
Depending upon the actual diameter, you could bond a ferrule either inside or over the top of it.

wednesday morning hills are good if that's your bag, i'll usually be there so say hi, or if you fancy something slower then friday regents laps, where I usually won't be
-
• #439
46t then
-
• #440
I'm not too fussed on "training" and mornings aren't ideal as I've no shower at work. I guess I'll just tag along a social weekend ride
-
• #441
Double or nothing. Or sell me etap for under 5 hundy
-
• #442
what were you thinking when you bought this?
-
• #443
Has this been hydro'd yet?
-
• #444
I was thinking that it hadn't be attacked with a drill since it was never mentioned
-
• #445
How has no one suggested a 3d printed cable stop/grommet thing yet? Clearly that is the "right answer"!
-
• #446
Have you got a 3d printer?
-
• #447
sell it, cut your losses get a frame that can take all the components you have
-
• #448
:(
-
• #449
Shave the tube on the BB cable guide, so you can fit a ferrule over it, then bond in place.
-

Riding in the big ring most of the time means the cable is under constant quite high tension, will it last?
Could I bond into the downtube instead?
That's what I've got however for some reason, mine doesn't have the curved bit for the front mech cable. But anyway, I can't see how that would stop the outer
