• It aint the bike. HWAT

  • He knows he’s on leftovers for the next 3 months.

  • That down tube is a pain to cut, a pain to weld, a pain to drill for internal routing. It does however look boss and makes sense for a disc frameset, so I have grudgingly accepted it is staying. How long did it take door to door out of interest?

  • The down tube really makes the frame.

Shipping was super fast left the UK on Friday arrived at my door Tuesday..

  • Unfortunately I didn’t factor in the $350 customs charges oh well..

Clearly they saw through the "artisanal plumbing sculpture" ruse on the customs form.

  • AUS has some savage duties for bicycle related stuff, I've been caught before...

  • @hippy can tell you how much they hate cyclists in Oz. I think it’s why we have to endure him here.

  • Dibs dog if you split

  • Well the importing thing is because there's only one or two big importers so they basically have a captive market and pricefuck everyone in the country. When I left, people were ordering shit from Wiggle UK because it was still cheaper having stuff sent from the other side of the planet than buying local.

  • And now you have left they no longer hate cyclists?

  • I don't know but see the late Mike Hall's twitter timeline for what I think is a "yes".

  • So...my original "re-use 10spd Campag from 2003" plan got derailled and I now have new 11sp 105 on there....however I am having some issues with the CK ISO hubs and need some inspiration:

Front - I have ordered the Road 12mm axle CK hub...and I'm hoping it'll fit in the ISO hub shells. If not...may drill the hub and lathe down the axle to 100mm wide

Rear - the CK freewheel bodies are $$$. The ISO MTB one doesn't fit the road 11spd shimano....any ideas here??

    Cheers,
    Gus

  • If you really want to use that hub, you could probably get the 105 rear derailleur to shift over the new HG800 11-34 Shimano cassette. It will fit on an HG freehub body. The derailleur doesn't officially support the 34T cog, however there are tons of videos of people setting up much more crazy combos with the 105 group.

  • My Canyon Ibflite with 5800 and a HG800 11-34 works fine. Derailleur is close to the cassette but not had any problems so far

  • Stripping the old 0025, it brought a smile to my wizened face to see Copaslip on the headset cups, cable adjusters and hanger screws.

And to see none on the bottle cage, mudguard and rack screws, as they'd get Loctite once attachments are fitted.

    Details people, details!

  • You are already stripping one down?

Mine hasn't even been sent yet.

    :-(

  • You're getting my old frame: just waiting for the filler to harden.

  • Weird, a 55cm Isen arrived in my office this morning unexpectedly. No 7 or something.

  • Delivered personally by Anna this morning:

Another example of outstanding customer service from Matt and team - well done and many thanks to Anna for making the schlep across town.

  • The post delivery pictures are looking great. UPS has kept #0029 in Croydon for the last two nights, rather than actually shipping it to Canada.

  • Chris King R45D centre lock hub looks to be £500, just for the rear hub.

    That seems, erm, excessive.

  • Sooo...

CK R45D rear, SON 28 front, Toray T800 38mm carbon rims, Sapim CX Rays, 28/24, everything black.

    Not sure if joking...

  • Chris King R45D centre lock hub looks to be £500

And paying 4 times the price of a DT 350 gets you what, exactly?
