Hack one out of an estate agent's sign? I had a wooden one on my shopper project that I replaced with a basket. The wooden box was too heavy. It also didn't hold up to vibration at all and started to come apart.
Looked amazing though.

Might use the rack.
Can probably only fit 28s so probably Paselas, or?
Might run it fixed but probably use the Sturmey Archer AM that's in there now. It's a very light Super Vitus frame, short and tight, toeclip overlap a cert.

I think it’s gotta be wood. Function over form.

Seriously. It was damn heavy.
I looked at a lot of box options but for the shopper and many were too big. You can look at fruit crates or wine boxes but you will have longevity issues IMHO.

I used a picnic basket on my old beater. Reasonably light and sturdy, handy lid, hipster chic. Would recommend

Alternative to Paselas for that ^^^^^?
I can get 28mm wired for <£20, but I already have Paselas on two other bikes. -

It is! Although I think it's VO.
(Hi there. -I've been out of circulation for some time)

I've had those Mafac inverse levers for years. Decided I needed to build a Frenchy style city bike - around the levers.

Wood and wicker score many hipster points. Never seen a bike with pink shin-scraper flats and wicker before.
Rack is a Specialized Pizza Rack. Cheap and cheerful but a bit of a bugger to source. At least they were six months ago.
I have a Royal Mail plastic post tub that might work well.

It lives! Crash damage repaired and a new life as a fixed tourer. Missing guards, sensible gearing and front panniers but it’s riding.

Yep, even the little ones are portly.
Radial rear?
