I really like the one of the little girl on the bin.

Thanks - for some reason I really like it too, it was one of those very candid moments that I almost missed... I would have liked to have maybe reframed it slightly, but by the time I went to do that the moment was gone.

borrowed Fuji GW690iii
Would really really really like to shoot some rolls with one of these.
I love what it says on camerapedia about them -
the major use of these cameras was in the thriving if unglamorous business of photographing tour groupsStill in the process of finding "my" medium format camera, the one I will settle on using.
The process is somewhat slow as I only have so many people borrowing me medium format cameras.

Still what I know by now is that even though Mamiya 645's (or Hasselblads for that matter) have a place in my heart the days where I lug this shit around daily are definitely over.
I really like Rollei, but can't imagine shooting squares predominantly.
It will be a rangefinder.
Most likely one of the Fuji's, or a Plaubel. -

Nice pic @Rik_Van_Looy - is that frost, or fog, or a mixture of both?
-
• #14986
Mamiya 6 or 7? Best lenses I've ever used.
-
• #14987
Oh yeah, those are also very good options.
Haven't tried either yet as well though, but heard good things and saw amazing pictures. -

The Fuji GSW has a really sharp wide lens. A fair bit better than the 90mm f3.5. There are 67 and 68 versions out there too for not-crazy money and they're durable cameras. I assisted on a few shoots with those but never used it myself. If I could be bothered with medium format I could replace my M4-P with a GSW680 and be happy I think ... I just can't justify the hassle of two formats.
The Mamiya 7ii is a different league again I think. But they're expensive, old and probably not easy to fix so owning one doesn't look like fun. I wonder if anyone hires out Mamiya 7s in London?

Such a nice size neg to print.

You can still get them repaired but as said the 7ii is expensive. The 6 is about half the price but is a square format and and slight weighted meter, compared to spot/centre on the 7.

Cheers, I think it's the frost melting in the sun on my morning commute.... It's quite magical and I'd been meaning to photograph it for ages

Unbelievable, it really dawns to me just now that this camera only shoot squares.
Thanks!

The negatives are out and they are huge! I'm looking forward to scanning them tomorrow.

The lenses on the Mamiya rangefinders got better. I think it was the standard (75mm?) lens for the Mamiya 7ii that tested way beyond the others (and just about anything else). The Fujifilm GA645w pro W was another lens of crazy resolution.
I know lens tests don't matter at all ... but the number of really uncanny, detailed photographs, that just happen to be shot with that lens cannot be a coincidence.
You can still get them repaired
That's good to hear. If there was one camera worth repairing ...

Not many to scan either ;-)

I think I've forgotten how to use my camera :/
Encouraged by some of the photos that came back from exposed films I'd accumulated over a few years, I took my M3 out last week. Think I hadn't used it for a couple of years. 4 rolls sent away and the scans are mostly pretty shit. Smudgy, crappy colours, wonky framing. Going to pick up the negs today, suspect my exposure estimations were way off and mostly too overexposed (situations like coastal winter light confuse me), and I probably just needed to give the filter a wipe. Disappoint.
I've always wondered whether the rangefinder is off, and this time the photos seem really quite soft/ out of focus. I can check the rangefinder by measuring the distance to things, but how do I check the lens? Just by wasting a roll of film on it? -

I bought a really cheap Olympus AF 50 point and shoot. It worked, I shot a roll and got some ol pictures back. A couple of weeks later I tried to load another film and it isn’t worked (battery light doesn’t come on/film doesn’t automatically advance). So, I changed the batteries for new ones and still no joy. Is there something basic/stupid I’m not doing or is it just bust?

Developed the first rolls of Fuji Acros yesterday.
Looking good apart from some drying marks, and yeah, the material gets somewhat curly but I got out the heavy books to weigh them down over night and that helped.
Now scanning, yay!
But, haha, I'm so naive.. of course there's no profile for that film in silverfast. Meh.
Dialing around for a while I'm having a hard time getting good results to be honest.Does anybody have a custom NegaFix profile for Fuji Acros 100, or a working alternative?
Thanks!
