I have the old quick release fork and surely there's no clearance for that. Interested to see how much you can put in the newer one

Really? 42mm tyres in mine at 700c. Can't see how 48 at 650 would be a problem. Probably not room to spare for mud but they'd fit I should think

I've got the 2016 15mm full carbon fork, which apparently clears 47mm with just a few mm each side. So 48mm+ knobblie plus mud is unlikely.
@PhilDAS what year is yours? 2017 has more clearance (will do 650 x 2.2")
