again...chainset away from perfect. A SRAM XX or XO would suit it so well, AND they'l be stiff enough to handle your herculean power.

I can't imagine there ever being anything made from carbon fibre on this bike.

I can see what you mean, but to me, a lightweight crank wouldn't feel right with some of the other hefty components on there. Not 'balanced'.

All in all, the bike's been a great success. It's coped with a few runs at Bike Park Wales, kept me upright for a 12hr 'race' and regularly panniers up when I visit London, carrying loads of stuff.
Most importantly for me though, it's a reliable machine to use on the Epping Badger rides several times a year, which was what I originally wanted it for :-)

Stealth 'for sale' ad?
:0)
Looking good mate, and much cleaner with the rigid fork

By the way, what do those Nobby nics roll like on other stuff than mud?
And what size are yours? -

Stealth 'for sale' ad?
Ha!
The Nics roll about the same as other large volume 'all-round' trail tyres I've used, like 2.4" Ardents and 2.4" Mountain Kings. The front is a 2.6" on a 30mm internal rim, and the rear is a 2.35" on a 25mm internal rim.

Cool....ill probably stick to the tried and tested X-Kings then......now to work out what fucking 650b ones to get!

X-Kings
Don't think I'd fancy one of those as a front tyre myself.
