Man, I didn't realise the tops up had changed so badly - that's possibly a deal breaker for me, doing that so easily was key to it being so useful.
I'm not going to change all my banking over to it, and it was very useful to have Monzo as my 'daily expenses card', which I imagine was a significant use case for their customers

I think we use it for the same purpose.
The top up has really soured it for me. if I don't have anything as concrete as full bar 4G or wifi, my banking app barely works. Also stops access if not updated, which happen without warning and needs full data to update.
To make it worse, logging in from a laptop STILL requires the App. I hate my bank but stuck with them a while. So yeah, deal breaker having to rely on my bank up....to top up another bank app...
I'm gonna continue using it, but I'm already exploring other options for daily use card. Monzo will remain my travel/fuel card.
Not entirely sure what happened, just got a new card today, and logging into the app, there was a button at the bottom of the screen saying activate card. I did (partially my fault) thinking it was just a replacement.
The simplicity of the whole operation is now being eroded and it's pushing me away really.
The limits I can sort of live with as I have no issue with contactless payments.
The ease of top up even on bad reception really saved my bacon a couple of times, but now I have to top up from my banking app as opposed to directly from the Monzo app, knowing my banking app would make Alan Turing shit a brick I'm not keen on that.
