My E3 Pro 2 has a switch on the back too.
Either way, I've currently got it wired up with the switch which Igaro make, and it works well. Only real annoyance at this point is the absurd amount of weatherproof connections and general wiring that are really difficult to tidy up now.
Mine only has one wire and a box.
Ah yes, I see there are some variances in models, some of which are designed to run back to the tail light as with mine.
