I was told to politely bugger off and call 101 after I was attacked in an attempted theft. Waited ages then hung up as well. This was a crime as well. Apparently, if not in immediate danger, it goes to 101. Go figure.

Make a complaint about the 999 operator, or the copper they passed you over to. You were the victim of a crime.

Should have yeah. At that point though I really just wanted to go home and didn't really expect any sort of result as it is.
