Thoughts on this tubeless kit? This rim tape seems to be easier to install than the tape I'd get with Stan's NoTubes kit, but is it as good?

Interesting.
My guess is that the rimtape doesn't need to be sticky because the edge of the tire pushes it down and seals it.
If it works that tape would be quicker to install than the normal stuff. But the width of the tape has to really match the rim. Also not sure if it is as reliable as normal stuff.
So, try it, if it doesn't work get that Tesa tape. I use that and cut it to widht. Which takes ages, but 10€ goes a long way and I have extra if I need to redo tape. -

What's the go to commuting tire in a 35c?

I was very happy with 38c Vittoria voyager hypers. A bit fiddly to get tubeless but so cheap, supple and fast (for a touring tyre)

I had those on my Tripster in it's final incarnation - were actually REALLY comfy - I didn't try them tubeless though. For £13 a pop definitely worth a try.

Ok, well you will be the one helping me bodge them tubeless...

haha - yep! I need some more sploosh I think

I run voyager hypers 32c with tubes and they're great, might tubeless them one day if it's quiet at work.

The video on this page is pretty good. It explains fitting and maintaining tubeless tyres.

has anyone else tried a mavic yskion tyre on a mavic op rim. I was expecting to mount by hand. I had to use my tyre lever though. do I have an outlier?

has anyone attempted the compass loup loup pass as a tubeless setup? it's not technically in their TC (tubeless compatible) range....
would this be a suicide mission?

Looking to go tubeless for the first time ever and so I'm looking for tyre reccomendations.
Before deciding this I was going to go with the none SK gravel kings, but not sure that they're available in tubeless?
Any recommendations? Must be available in ~28c~, have good puncture protection and grip well in the wet (guessing the lower pressures will help with this anyway).
And of course roll smoothly. Not into spending more than £25-30 per tyre if possible!
Also what goo should I buy and how often will I be looking to replace it? The bike is going to be used everyday as im trying to reduce down to 1 bike (lol)

Hutchinson Sectors? Not as cheap but very impressed with mine. Think they might be discontinued though which is sad.
Or Schwalbe G-One Speed is meant to be good, but again expensive.

+1 for G-One speed - just superb.
Gravy kings wont be 'official' tubeless in 28c

Are the valves that DT Swiss supply with their wheels any good?

I'm using them, seem to be

Thanks: that's one thing ticked off the list!
Yes... Well, in case it might be useful, I was using BOR sealant and it has congealed after 4 months at reasonably warm temperatures. There was still a tiny bit that was liquid and dribbling around, but <5ml.
