  • I was wondering about that, but the article doesn't say it. Neither does it say whether any damages have been settled on. Perhaps silence is part of the agreement.

  • The case had been due to be heard later this week, but after a meeting on Friday between lawyers from the two sides, Farage backed down.

    Didn't even go to court. I expect the two lawyers decided "you're going to lose this Nige" and everyone was happy to leave it there with him "apologising" or whatever you want to call his statement.

  • I doubt that. Remember that 'settling out of court' usually involves some kind of financial transaction. I'd be very surprised if he only had to issue the statement and nothing else.
