Thanks both. I didn't take it in, the partner did. So out of my hands re discussing it with the manager. Instead of £25 it was £75, they said they could not replace the screen as it was water damaged, wtf!
Anyway, perhaps I'll call the store. But having worked at apple, I know unless you kick up a fuss they don't give a toss.
Email Tim Cook? Or rather his office? They have seen me right before. If it's the Covent Garden store, ask to speak to Michael or Tarick, the lead geniuses (if it's the genius bar you are dealing with), they have both sorted out complicated issues for me in the past when the minions BS me.
I don't doubt the sensors had been triggered, but in this case it wasn't dropped in a toilet, so seems a bit unjust. Especially given the phone was working fine! I'll call Regent St. tomorrow.
