  • So just wanted an opinon from experienced painters on here. I have a Keith Coppell frame which I sent to be resprayed by Ellis Briggs. I sent it away and it was sent back about 8 - 9 weeks later. I was aware that this would be the time scale on average due to seeing this information listed on their website.

On receiving it there was a lot wrong with it. One of the colours was incorrect, the lug lining colour was also incorrect and they had fitted a Tange headset that wasn't even mine and not returned my original one either.

I expressed that I wasn't happy with the service and they agreed to pick up the frame and rectify the issues.

Since then it has been just shy of 6 weeks and I still don't have my frame back. I have phoned and left my number as tbe relevant person has not been there to speak to on multiple occassions. I barely ever get a call back and have been doing all the chasing.

I called yesterday after being told, it'll be collected from the enamellers ( which I'm aware is contracted to Bob Jackson) on Friday, which was supposed to be the previous Friday and it goes on. When I got through and complained I was told that basically it takes as long as it takes and 'people just think we need to spray it with a lick of paint', which I know is not the case.

I know there's blasting, priming, sanding, painting, curing, sanding, paint ect as well as clear coating, transfers and reapplying due to cutting any peel or dirty and so on. Was a little insulted by that but I'm sure they get it all the time.

What I'm basically asking is, are they taking the piss? I don't feel I've been prioritised due to the initial problems and seem to be waiting the same amount of time again.

    Any in put greatly appreciated.

Also, do most of you guys use Devilbiss?

    Many thanks!
