Very good coffee

Agh, this is sort of over my way but just far enough away that I don't think I'll be able to make it at a sensible time after work. Staines-Ealing is just a bit of a mission.

Just been to have a chat with the 'duty manager', as neither Pasquale/@metrocammel nor the Pub manager were there.
Will update the Header with more detail when I get home. -

Had a phone call this afternoon from Robert the manager of the Red Lion.
He's letting us have the tables at the back, with the entrance to the beer garden,
(where the ThNRC joined us last year for their Prize Giving Ceremony).
We're notionally booked from 6-ish, so if anyone is thinking of dropping in on their homeward bound commute, we're all set. -

@youramericanlover @middleofnowhere
When I visited on Saturday, I was asked if 'We had any other requirements?'
They're looking into the bath tub,
but,
we definitely have to bring our own snakes.
(I'll have word with the Friends of Ruislip Woods, to see if we can borrow some of their adders for the evening). -

Great work, G. As hippy's coming, they'll also have to quadruple all their normal orders for ingredients, dough, etc.

I say 'adders',
You say 'vipers',
'let's call the whole thing off'. -
• #113
You want some proper snakes? I got someone visiting from Oz...

Snake handling fail.

Sub-editing fail.
An ambulance arrived and rushed him to West Middlesex Hospital, where Mr Rose says doctors were just minutes away from being put on a life support machine.

Poor doctors.
-
• #118
I wonder if the Doctors would have been attached in parallel or series?
-
• #119
May have been asked already, but is there access to the beer garden from the road, and is there stuff to chain bikes to?
-
• #120
The Red Lion will/should when reminded open the lefthand gate to give full & free access to the beer garden.
Don't remember seeing any formal steel loops but we will be practically the only users, bar smokers.
Alternatively opposite the pub is a long steel railing which is normally used at Wests Beers. -
• #121
There's a single hoop about 20m away towards Ealing Broadway and directly over the road from the pub is a metal fence I've always used for locking to. Oh, you said that already.
-
• #122
Now I remember! This pub was where I first met @hippy for Pizza II. @Pistanator you coming?
-
• #123
@scherrit and any other vehicular drivers,
The Red Lion / Santa Maria combo is located just south of the triangle which leads south from Ealing Broadway so is in Ealing's Parking Zone C,
so residents only parking until 19.30!
There will be parking in the shopping centre, approx 500 metres north,
but, I've never used it, so do not know the charges. -
• #124
thanks!

Will be good to see you.
Will the Red Lion need to supply a set of screens to protect the innocents from Pisti's fizzing cock?
Spanks for the tip!
