When he relaunched his dj career he used to stay at my house when he had gigs in London. His interest in counter culture, music, mind expansion and the connected nature/synchronicity is fascinating.
He also has a very interesting alternative perspective on the growth of house music in the UK. He was involved heavily in black dance music culture in the North of England. House music was being played in nightclubs up there before the year zero of 1988 when the London dj's heard it in Ibiza. Though of course Noel Watson and his brother were playing house music before Oakenfold/Rampling et al.
