The whole thing or series two?
It's all about mild peril in a well executed vintage environment with likeable characters but I think less happened in series two than one. Two was more about character development but I'm not sure about the new characters.
Also totally don't get what the 'sister' thing was about though, what a random departure.

Watched the last ep last night. Until then i thought the sister arc was wholly redundant but think she was purely just a training montage for the final battle. So many totally unnecessary diversions all round though.

Saw the latest Discovery last night - if I never see another ‘groundhog’ episode then that’ll be fine by me.

the longer Discovery goes on , the less i like it...

Yeah that's how it seemed to me but the whole being from London thing was really weird too. It just felt tacked on and like it didn't quite fit with the rest.
Overall I really enjoyed it - there were definitely big crowd pleaser elements (the ghost busters episode, the final episode) but I didn't mind that.

Virgin still offers it https://help.virginmedia.com/system/templates/selfservice/vm/help/customer/locale/en-GB/portal/200300000001000/article/HELP-2234/Newsgroups
(Although retention is shit and speed terrible so I still use Tweaknews)

really enjoyed is a bit strong for me but I didn't hate watching it.
best character I think is the cop bloke.
oh and when the black kid and the fat kid started arguing about rules of the group I was fully prepared to stop watching entirely if they just rehashed the falling out trope from the first series to split the group just so they could reconcile near the end.

I'm sure a lot of their content is removed by auto takedown or they skip certain newsgroups.

So Prue Leith tweets about the Great Bake Off of Britain winner before the final airs tonight.

stranger things 2 - like Discovery, as the series progresses its not hitting the high notes the other series did
-
• #3738
ok ok so just finished off EP 8 and 9 and its redeemed itself a LITTLE - but 2 eps do not make a series.
-
• #3739
I've watched E1, I'll get round to another at some point.
-
• #3740
yeah it's not particularly enjoyable.

The kicker for me was episode 8. I mean what the actual fuck? So so shit
-
• #3742
Another couple of episodes of Discovery, and two things I thought were quite funny.
A character saying "That is so fucking cool".
The fact that the crew's workout gear says DISCO across the front.
Still don't know how they are going to explain the Klingon's re-design though. -

Starts well but IMVHO goes very wobbly after a few episodes, bit of a shame...
-
• #3746
Interesting, just finished the series and enjoyed it.
Where did it go wrong for you ? -

I thought the characters needed more fleshing out, they felt a bit like cardboard cutouts that were put in situations that didn't always make much sense... Overall, it seemed a bit rushed and could've done with a bit more work on the script IMHO...

"secret lives of thin people" on C4 last night, twaddle, enitre conclusions could be compressed into a sentance - it was worth of a C5 program!
enjoying netflix having all Louis Theroux stuff oneline, as well as the original The Office.

I've only seen the first episode so far, but thought the dialogue was awful. That bar/chat-up scene in particular and pretty much every subsequent scene with Holden and Debbie was just baaaad.

Peaky Blinders is back tonight. Hoorah.
Christmas ‘77 with the Sex Pistols on BBC4, a truely heartwarming film. Probably the best film I’ve seen on the Pistols too.
