It is a strong and lightweight metal often named using extraneous vowels.
I type this as I am on holiday near a very large deposit of bauxite. The locals pronounce the metal produced from bauxite the same way as I do. Aluminum it is.

Has this bike been discussed yet? Orro Terra C. Ultegra version coming out - looks great value for money and a great build. Wheels a bit iffy, but good as a winter pair...

How weird would putting a steel fork on an alu frame make the bike feel?
Thinking of getting that Pinnacle Arkose for winter use and perhaps an occasional tour next year where i'd fit a steel fork with lowrider mounts etc.
Or would the mudguard eye on the carbon forks hold up for a simple front rack?

I once attended a frame builders' q&a session, involving several US builders (inc. Paul Shaffer and Keith Bontrager), and the guys from Pace.
One of the questions was, "Why do all you (US) guys build in steel, and Pace in aluminium?"Adrian from Pace replied, "Because that can only get aluminum over there; aluminium is much better."

Or something like the Fyxation all road fork?

If you can source that in europe i'd buy and stick on a custom frame instead

I've got a steel fork for my alu 29er for 'touring'. Plenty of people use rigid steel forks on the Alu MTBs with no problems so I don't think you will.

Alright! It wouldn't be permanent. Just for when i'd need to run front panniers.

Also, the Spez Diverge (fugly zertz) fork is carbon with mid fork mounts.
Might be able to find one ex-display (cut steerer) or second hand from a crashed rig. I got a VNT touring fork this way.

TBF, the 650b canyon have a very limited tyres selection being a road frame, I doubt it can go any bigger than 32mm.

Due to shit happening I haven't ridden it as much as I might have liked so far, but it's good. Nothing wrong with the wheels either - Fulcrums are made by Campag and rated by people I know who know about these things.

If your after a carbon fork with plenty of clearance and the bosses on it, I read on their website that Bombtrack will be releasing the fork on the EXT I posted on the last page for sale separately and they're based in Europe.

Good to hear. Couldn't find anything about those particular wheels (R700s) so assumed they were bottom of the range no-namers. Would love a full review if and when you get some more time to ride
What is this aloominoom you speak of?
