• I have finally found a pair of Rockshox Reba 1 1/18" Dual Air forks. Yay!

I don't know how they are supposed to feel like, but I reckon these are not totally dialled in yet. The look pretty knackered and feel meh.

How often should they be pumped? Do you bring your shock pump when riding? Should I buy one or can I just get away with borrowing one once in a while? If the forks are not in the condition they should be in what is my best video tutorial if I want to learn how to service them?

  • They should feel great.

You need to set the negative and positive spring independently. There should be a guide on the fork leg for the pressures. You need to set them first to your weight, then tune to sag from there.

In theory, you should alter the pressure quite a bit because heat and altitude affect the air spring. Tuning by level of sag each ride isn't uncommon in racers. Most just find something they are happy with and leave it at that though.

You need a shock pump. They all come out of the same factory. I've got two, a fox one with a digi gauge that leave at home, and a Topeak that has no gauge, is very small, and I take that around with me.

Dual air rebas are very easy to service - SRAM publish the service manual, google it :)

Theres some good vids on youtube. Get safety goggles please.
