Mr Shaw has replied - he would prefer a date, but an email any time up to one day before will suffice. He is quite clear though- no date, no time, no validation.
Yeah, you definitely have to finalise it beforehand but it does mean you can bail if a weekend is looking particularly bad or something crops up. So long as you send the email beforehand!
