Admittedly I’ve never owned any Cone Mill denim but that’s very sad indeed. I’m surprised Levi’s couldn’t help them out. I’m sure there’s more to it than that though. I’m sure there’ll be some shipping of shuttle looms across to Japan too!
Interested to see how it will affect LVC, Tellason etc. Just as well the Japanese market is thriving I guess.

I have a pair of cone mill Nudie's that I love. Great fades and really comfy denim. A bit more special now.

Sad to see that cone mills is closing it's doors.... I bought some very reasonsible gustins 16oz...i expect someone to set up a artisan mill by buying a few narrow looms. They will be massively over priced I bet.

Couldn't spring for a £200 pair of jeans on this occasion, so after some head-scratching I chanced a pair of N&F Weird Guys 22oz 'Broken (twill) Elephants'. Once I'd overcome new levels of vanity sizing (had to return a 31 for a 30; true size is probably 34/35), I'm very happy with them: a bit more rise and a bit more room everywhere than my APCs - especially in the lower leg - which is what I was after. Looking forward to sick fadez - and less gouging of the waistband.

It's my birthday and I got me a new pair of pretty special selvage.

From the Nudie 15 year limited edition"Bloodline" collection, I have a pair of Lean Deans in Dry Paper denim selvage.

The denim has 31% paper woven in with the cotton threads. 12.5oz. The feel and look of it is really great. Nicely stiff and with a real sheen that I associate with Japanese denim. The selvage and pocket detail is all done in bright white thread to echo the paper. It looks amazing. I can't wait to see how it fades.

They fit perfectly out of the box, which is a treat too

Had to look that paper denim up. Says it's biodegradable, could be interesting in the long run :)

These were a present that sadly don’t fit. They have no labels or branding on them at all. All I know is my sister bought them in the ‘states. They seem very good quality. I’d say the cut is straight leg.

How do you stop crotch wear from getting worse? And importantly is there a way of preventing it in the first place? I assume soaking and softening the crotch to stop the stiff fibres from eating each other?

Have to say I'm a bit disillusioned with the concept of paying a premium for uncomfortable jeans that wear out in critical places faster than cheap jeans.

My Edwins wore through in just over a year. just as they were fully comfortable. Tbf, when i was wearing levi's, they wore through in just the same place and equally quickly.
