Now why didn't I think of...oh wait I did :)
Science friends are useful for procuring that kind of stuff.

My 25c Schwalbe Pro-One tyres are almost 29mm at ~ 70psi on a 20mm internal width rim (SL23 v2). Does anyone know how wide the 28mm version of the 2017 (herringbone tread) IRC formula pro RBCC comes up at the same pressure on a similarly sized rim? Thanks.

I have a 28mm Pro One mounted on a Light Bicycle U 65 rim (https://www.lightbicycle.com/65mm-deep-carbon-700C-25mm-wide-road-rim-clincher-U-shape-tubeless-compatible-with-high-TG-resin-surface.html) that I could measure tonight?

Thanks very much for the offer hippy, it's appreciated, but it's actually the 28mm IRC formula pro RBCC that I want to know the width of. They're comparatively rare, so I know it's a bit of a long shot...

pretty excited about the set of Schwalbe 700x30 s-ones that will be mounted on some prime pro disc wheels tonight, gonna be like a motorbike!
had some issues with CRC sening the right wheels, but a combo of a nice guy in customer service and evans having some centre lock rotors in stock means I'll be rolling by the weekend!

Any reason I can't take the Schrader valve core out and quirt 30ml of sealant into my Brompton tubes? Fed up of rear punctures.
-
• #1608
Sorry, I only own the Schwalbe Pro One. @cycleclinic might be more use?
-
• #1609
I've heard of people using sealant in tubes and I know you can buy pre-slimed tubes so I see no reason not to give it a shot. Can you not buy more durable tyres for Bromptons?
-
• #1610
How many have you had?
In two years of ownership I never had one, Paddington to Holborn 2x per day, with the marathons.
time for a new tyre?
-
• #1611
Yeah but they're slow and I've already got sealant.
-
• #1612
4? All from glass in the tread on the rear. Standard Brompton rather than Marathons. Should probably spend more time pulling out the shards tbh but cba.
-
• #1613
answer = buy marathons
the amount of time wasted changing a Brompton rear tyre once will negate all the savings made in rolling resistance between that and a standard tyre...
4 times, and you may as well just walk...

they're slow
Brompton.

Cheers Hippy. The answer from @cycleclinic was 27 - 28mm.

answer = buy marathon pluses
FTFY. I love the sound of crunchy bits of glass under my Marathon Plus tyres first thing in the morning. Ride quality's abysmal, but life is too short for fixing punctures on a Brompton.
And I know @edscoble will claim that fitting Marathon Plus tyres will make your Brompton explode in a fiery ball of death (until they changed the sizing) but mine hasn't.

Latest Marathon Pluses have addresses the sizes issues and now compatible with the Brompton.
-
• #1618
I knowes. That's why I said 'until they changed the sizing'.
-
• #1619
I Would be interested on the measurements, if you can measure it up.
-
• #1620
I can but it won't be until tonight, probably tomorrow.

Does running tubeless on a turbo trainer make any noticeable difference?
My turbo likes to be clamped hard so if you have to run tubeless at lower pressure I wonder if there's any issues? Probably throw my calibration off to some extent but that can be fixed.
-
• #1622
Y u no turbo tyre?
-
• #1624
Sure thing, thanks mate!

Is seepage normal? And yes I'm talking about tyres. There is a very small amount of liquid coming out where the bead meets the rim, negligible, but thought the whole point was there was a seal?
Yeah, logic would dictate squirting inside the valve would be easier and less messy
