Looking at my phone I'd already opted out of the "User Experience Program". I don't remember doing so but I do tend to habitually go through the menus and turn all that shit off with a new thing.
Other than that, it seems to be similar to what other manufacturers, including Google, collect. Although I would prefer it if they weren't, I may have to look into disabling that. I must admit I didn't realise how much Google collected, from their privacy policy:
Device information
We collect device-specific information (such as your hardware model,
operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile
network information including phone number). Google may associate your
device identifiers or phone number with your Google Account.Log information
When you use our services or view content provided by Google, we
automatically collect and store certain information in server logs.
This includes:details of how you used our service, such as your search queries.
telephony log information, such as your phone number, calling-party
number, forwarding numbers, time and date of calls, duration of calls,
SMS routing information and types of calls. Internet protocol address.
device event information, such as crashes, system activity, hardware
settings, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your
request and referral URL. cookies that may uniquely identify your
browser or your Google Account. Location informationWhen you use Google services, we may collect and process information
about your actual location. We use various technologies to determine
location, including IP address, GPS and other sensors that may, for
example, provide Google with information on nearby devices, Wi-Fi
access points and mobile towers.Unique application numbers
Certain services include a unique application number. This number and
information about your installation (for example, the operating system
type and application version number) may be sent to Google when you
install or uninstall that service or when that service periodically
contacts our servers, such as for automatic updates. -

Anyone got any experience with the chinese charging cases on ebay? Specifically for samsung s7. Theres 4200 mah ones for ~£12. The mophie branded ones are ~£90 and 3300mah.
Also the mophie ones say they add up to 60% battery but the s7s battery is only 3000mah so why dont they claim 100% extra battery?

Isn't most of that sent when using their services?
-
• #19185
Probably, but I'm not sure what the definition of using their services is and how deeply it is just tied in to using Android.
For instance telephony log information, such as your phone number, calling-party
number, forwarding numbers, time and date of calls, duration of calls, SMS routing information and types of calls or device event information sounds pretty generic. -

Does anyone know of a process or app that will transfer one Google account to another Google account?
-
• #19189
Depends what it is you mean.
You can export all your data from one account (https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/3024190?hl=en) and there's then probably ways of importing it into another. In some cases like Google Drive/Docs/Sheets you can share files or say for Google Analytics you can can share admin access to the new account and then revoke the old one.
If you mean on a phone, you can go to Accounts and log in with another google account to use the phone.
What are you trying to do exactly?

Sorry for being vague, my wife set a google account years ago with a stupid email address, she has now created a new google account with a sensible email address. I could move all of the stuff she has in google drive over and could probably do the same for the photos, but was hoping for a quicker less manual solution.
Appreciate the help.

Don't think I've ever done that. Certainly not in a one-click thing.
Try? https://lifehacker.com/5934343/how-can-i-migrate-my-google-data-from-one-account-to-another

So it turns out google kept one surprise about the new Pixel 2 phones secret until now. They’ve rolled their own image signal processor made up of 8 cores that will speed up all the fancy hdr stuff they do dramatically and use less power.
The new chip isn’t even active yet but will be enabled in a forthcoming update (8.1).
This is much bigger news than it’s being given credit for.

Looking for a phablet to set up for my Gran. I want to lock it down and give her access to a few apps and make it as simple as possible.
Basically we want to be able to video call her and send her pictures.
Any ideas and phone recommendations?

Rumours of a new one coming? seems a bit weird since they only just did a new version with the fancy pants design on the back -

But you can use both accounts at once, or keep the old one and send and receive srs stuff from the old one as the new name.

Got the N5 back.
End result is I paid £65 for a new screen that lasted 2 days and now the phone's totally dead after being 'in repair' for 4 months.
I won't bother with any repairs I can't get for free or do myself from now on.
I'm getting tired of my Moto X Play being slow and shit and crashing apps.
Looking at an Honor 9, anyone have experience of the brand/ phone?
I am not going to fanny around with root or anything.
