Gunmetal PDWs?
Did they crack under the brake bridge mount? Wondering if they were rubbing around / vibrating against the mount. That might score the metal over time. But still. Not expected.

I had something similar happen with my steel GB mudguards. The aluminium PDWs will be even worse as the metal will quickly work harden as they rattle around (as you noted).

Looks like stress + time.

Grey hairs?

Happens to all of us, even PDWs.

Would a small patch of inner tube between the brake bridge and bracket reduce vibrations?

That's a good idea, I did something similar when I replaced my GB mudguard and it hasn't had any problems since.

Also leather washers

Had to do the same to get it even close with the Radial clip ins (22mm tyres). Still tweaking to avoid it rubbing.

PDW is so hard to find online atm. I know that after another βcrackβ incident that I should invest in something else. But the heart wants what the heart wants and luckily Condor has a few pair in store atm and I decided to switch from gun metal to matte black. (Obz)
This time round Iβve taken everyone advise to insert a washer between the bridge and the bracket to hopefully prolong the lifespan of these mudguards. (Hopefully)

Make sure that the fender isn't under stress when you tighten everything up as well, this can make a big difference in the lifespan.

I went over the bike twice over to ensure everything is tighten properly and the basic sanity check was to bounce the bike to make sure nothing was rattling and I must say it is very refreshing to have a bike that is mechanically sound again:

That's a feature not a failure.

I didn't mean that you might have left it too loose, more that the bolts might have been used to correct any slight bend or misalignment in the installation.

@HoKe and other people.
My PDWs came with a small strip of clear adhesive plastic which goes between the guard and the metal clip, presumably to dampen vibration and prevent over tightening. I'm wondering if Ho's guards had this bit of plastic?
My PDWs also use the weird lever bracket which holds the mudguard some distance from the brake bridge, unlike Ho's. It's uglier/fussier but probably allows the guard to wobble more than the direct attachment at the bridge.

That was the bit which broke on @Cycliste's bike. It wobbled. It snapped.

Anyone got a pair of the 37mm Radials lying around? They're sold out online

I might! Let me check

Yep βΒ 18Β£ sound good? They're brand new in packging

I just fitted some cheapo plastic eBay mudguards to my winter beater and it took me nearly 3 hours and loads of bodging and I still did a terrible job. If I ever have to put nicer guards on a nicer bike I'm definitely paying someone else to do it.

If the OP backs out, I'll definitely take 'em, if that's cool?.

Tried to fit SKS Bluemels last night but discovered my chainstay bridge isn't drilled.
Anyone got a solution/workaround/hack for this problem?
Have the same problem (f&r), I've been trying the increase the size of the hole to be able mount them higher. Not had a lot of luck yet, do to the lack of the right tools. Will post up if I get it to work.
