That is of course an option - but will the handling not be more barge-like? I mean I'm a tourist rather than a racer, but I remain intrigued by the promises of the 650B cultists...

The bridgeport is very nearly up and working after a year of pissing around and mostly being a gigantic paperweight. What a lovely mill, what a ridiculously complex switch.

@coldharbour Just a couple of quick double checks if I may
28.6mm seat collar clamp
28.6mm derailleur clamp
160mm front rotor
140mm rear rotorone though for the future - shopping for parts last night, it seems to me the 28.6mm clamps widely available are a bit crap - all chunky lumps of aluminium. The nice sleek carbon fibre clamps don't seem to be available off the shelf in 28.6mm.
You might consider using your batch buying power to supply each frame with the required clamps.

No possibility of a 'Throw the switch now, Igor!' heavy duty blade switch then? Shame...

Yes to everything.
For front mech, I'd suggest the shimano one as its nice, subtle, slim line and cheap.
For seat collar I'd go with Thomson, not horrendously expensive and comes with a stash bag.
We thought about offering these with the frames, but decided to just let people decide. Some people dislike Thomson, some people will use campag and won't want a shimano branded adaptor on their frames.
Maybe adding them to the Web store would be a goer?

Thanks for the feedback,
My major issue with the adaptor and thomson is they don't seem very nice to be putting on a frameset that is close to £2 k rrp. for that kind of money I want my finishing kit sleek and weenie. Something like this http://www.carbonice.net/Seatpostclamp/Eva::16.html.
Put it this way, frameset is planned to cost £1850. If it was £1925 with the CF seat post and derailleur clamp goodness - preferably Isen branded - it would be a no brainer to me.
Oh a Thomson kit has no place on high end road frames imo.

That switch is wired into the inverter, which it didn't need to be. We are going to be able to power this and all the ancillaries from a 4 gang socket set. Brave new world of digital inverters.

Aerozine if you want weenie

I'd agree with bar and stem, but do have a soft spot for the collars.
Herein lies the problem though, thomson to you is bike cancer whilst I know plenty of people who view almost all design of carbon collar as an affront to humanity and therefore whatever we chose would be wrong for someone. Also, the reason we didn't add a braze on for front mech is so people could run it 1x without it looking like the wrong bike, so those people would be paying money for something they don't want if we added a front mech adaptor to the build. I see the logic in things people need being available at purchase though, just need to work out the most logical way to do it.

Bonkers to think that this replaces a rotary converter 10 times the size...

I'd say that while the stems and posts are simply unnecessary, the collars are actually evil. The correct attributes for a seat post clamp are minimal bending stiffness and a way to keep the screw straight, and the Thomson fails on both counts.

@mdcc_tester does not approve of Thomson seatpost collar iirc

• #1292
iirc
Nothing wrong with your short term memory then :)

Whose clamp design gets your approval?

• #1295
BBB iirc.

Herein lies the problem though.....
You are absolutely right in terms of choice and can't argue with your thinking on the front derailleur part.
aerozine if you want weenie
And here is the real issue. Aerozine doesn't make a 28.6mm collar clamp, neither does Tune or Schmolke or Carbozine and Google doesn't seems to be helping me find anything similarly weenie.
So I am stuck with Thomson or some hideous pattern part which will fuck with the feng shui of my bike

I know when I'm beaten; the Thomson had already been found, I'm not going to waste half an hour trying to find something even worse.

What about hope?
So get a frame with space for 60-622 tyres :)
