That is too much, RS505 calipers are about €75 for both at Bike24

But what does the banjo do?

Allows hydraulic fluid to pass from a hose to a bolt hole which is at right angles to the hose axis, and allows the hose axis to be aligned in any direction on the plane orthogonal to the bolt axis.
