Pearsons don't have any, gash.

Were they those green ones?
-
• #2154
No, they were orange and blue. When I had my bike fit all those years ago Scherrit was using them a lot I believe.

Yeah I got a set of those just can't get on with them. I could try harder.
Already asked Corinne and she said they have run out, but if you have a keen eye and spot some she didn't then that would be great. Size 43.5

Well they are Australian. :)

Yeah jorrit know's his stuff, he fitted me good.

Make your own, just use some handlebar tape or so.
The shimano adjustable innersoles look similar, could try them.

That sounds like what I had, and it was my IT band. Bike fit + physio + other things sorted it.

My recent bike fit identified that while I'd actually set up my bike pretty well, my low back pain / stiffness over long distances was probably a result of excessive hip movement. Itself probably caused by shit glutes. Anyone else managed to succesfully improve this issue?
-
• #2162
Yes. By doing a repetitive stretch 20-40 times twice daily for a year.
-
• #2163
I have a couple of exercises / stretches to work on, hopefully I'll start to get somewhere eventually if I work on it daily.
It was pretty surprising to see just how much hip movement I had, no wonder my back was getting tired.

What was Steve on when he wrote this?
https://www.stevehoggbikefitting.com/bikefit/2011/08/material-challenges-how-to-lessen-your-ability-to-coordinate-your-actions-without-being-aware-of-it/Apparently wearing certain sunglasses, using certain inner tubes, and the contents of your saddlebag may affect your bike fit...

On many aspects he is brilliant, and then he goes all homeopathy on us.
That link is not new, but is pretty "out there"

So I'm in the final stages of setting my bike up.
I've gone for full stack at the front for the moment as I've not ridden for a few years.
I'm trying to sort my seat out but it has a more elaborate clamp than I'm used to/ remember on my past bikes.
What's a recommended starting position?Here's a picture;

That.
Flat and in the centre of the rails is where I'd start.
-
• #2168
Thanks, seemed like a logical start.
What about set back? -
• #2169
Agree with Hippy. Very hard to say with setback as it depends on seat tube angle etc, so the same setback in two different bikes could have wildly different position on the rails.
UCI minimum for setback is 50mm horizontal from the BB centre. I think most people are between 60-90mm? I have mine at 75mm
-
• #2170
Mine is scherrit approved 55mm.
-
• #2171
I'm guessing the scale that starts from 0 and runs to 35mm (on the clamp) is from the 50mm limit. Making mine around 72mm.
Height as a general rule to your hip?
-
• #2172
You can do setback without a plumb line?
-
• #2173
Sorry I don't understand your question.

I'm still confused, I was referencing the scale on my seat clamp.
Scherrit. They don't have them anymore though.
