  • 2 years ago you left this comment, I have been using mine for 6 months now and have exactly the same sentiment. the laces look cool but they are a bit shit actually

  • They do look nice, wonder how rigid/comfortable they are.

  • They look lovely, curious to see some in the flesh

  • Yessss, was hoping more info on these had come out yet, I don't think i'll be able to resist having a couple of pairs of these considering .my Nike Racer habit. @SeΓ±or_Bear rapha collab coming?

  • Deffo getting those grey / yellow ones, full on matching bike / kit wanker.

  • perfect for british weather

  • Heather colour ones are 3 hole cleat fitting only?

    Would buy if i could use with mtb cleats...

  • MTB ones look pretty cool, admittedly maybe not what you were looking for though.

  • Yeah, not for me.

    The Republic R Knit is a two hole cleat fitting but nowhere near as sleek and without the best colours...

  • Bit like when you could buy jumpers with a shirt collar sewn in.

    Giro need to stop fucking about and do Republic in this colourway;

  • Giro Empire SLX and ACC are roughly the same price at the moment... Tried on some SLXs today and they were super light. Bit skeptical about british winter use though? I guess thick socks and overshoes are a must?

  • They're Summer shoes, pure and simple.

    Winter will trash them.

  • Thought as much. Guy in the shop said something about people returning them due to the soles splintering due to rub whilst walking which also made me think - no.

  • Can anyone confirm what insoles/footbeds come with the SLX Empires?

    Is it these?

  • As far as I can tell, yes: the different arch supports attach with Velcro.
