No hub standards :)

This is a 2017 gravel bike though, so seems unlikely!

I finally got the rear G-One to pop the bead in (ENVE 29er rim) but the front is beyond me, it'll pop in almost all the way round, but then when you deflate to put the sealant in a section of the bead pops out every single time. I'm going to make this someone else problem.

Yes it's 150mm and says 150 on the axle too...

Have you tried to put a tube and leave it for a few days?

Inflate with sealant in. The fluid will help lubricate the bead seating and prevent air loss (or will result in jizzy explosion)

or will result in jizzy explosion
I wonder how common a tubeless explosion actually is?
I suppose there's a risk, if you're going ghetto with a slack tyre/rim combination and used a compressor to get it to seal. Then theres potential for the slack to end up in one area and the bead to get over the rim.
With a bead that requires extra pressure to force it onto the rim seat, I can't imagine how enough slack appears, to allow the bead to get over the rim wall.

i think it is more an imagined problem than real

Very tight rim / tyre combos can be so tight that the bead snaps and BOOOOOOM you have freaked out neighbours / cats / partner / flatmates and an epic jizz explosion if you were silly enough to add the sealant before checking to see if the tyre would mount properly

Saw a guy's tubeless Clemente tyre explode off the rim mid-ride on the weekend. Which was fortunate as I had my own flat and was waiting for someone with a pump..

Gone in. Hutchinson Secteur 28s. Will report back.

Good luck. I've still got a bottle of sealant sitting on the floor at home. Can't be bothered testing it.

I haz big ones but they seem very fast/fragile for anything but beach racing .. we'll see.
-
• #1470
Yeah?
I rode the bigones 2.35 and loved them, so little resistance, so thats why im going to get a set, but i probably wont do any beach riding..Now Imstarting to think about maybe getting a set of gravelkings or other nice looking gum/tanwall tyre thats good tubeless and pretty big around 700c x 2.00"

colleagues wife as used them for commuting for the last couple of years (in 650b) and they are fine - a few punctures but with the sealant and low pressure they have all sealed without the need for puting a tube. great tyres!

A bottle rocket for your bike?
Actually that give me an idea for my commute...

Old tape off, rim cleaned with Isopropyl, new tape on, brand new valve, leaking like fuck around the valve stem. Fucking fucking fuck.
Any ideas from anyone?
-
• #1475
you cut the valve hole too big? re-tape ..
It’ll be 148x12 which is ‘boost’ spacing. Which is pretty unusual on a gravel bike! Have you measured it?
