Ah, that makes a lot of sense. Ta. I'm a little allergic to TIG for some reason - seems sort of rude to actually melt the steel :-)

did this ever get done?

Proper bikes are red, blue or yellow; factoid.
Candy stripe once I've stoked up the potatochop.

I've taken a shine to this. Looks like black/seriously dark blue with a simple set of stripes

I am very interested on 9·5·1 specifications since reynolds doesn't give any info.
My thoughts about paint are red, regarding the city of Stoke on Trent, small amount of British racing
green and some white fillet between them for the purity of the sport.Every comment from Brian on this tubeset will be very interesting.

This is quite an old thread @user81896 so you might be better getting in contact through their website....unless @Rourkie still keeps an eye on it....

Best of luck trying to get Rourke to respond to a respray request. I tried on 2 occasions recently to get a Rourke 953 repainted with no response from them. Easier to buy new....

It looks like the rourke resprayed are done by a company called bluewhippet I found them on Instagram. Rourke themselves are bit swamped with work and so a call might be better. They probably should get another framebuilder in but Jason insists that it's a small operation and all frames are built by him.
I think it may be spin off to imply that they do 3rd party resprays/restoration s.

Firstly thanks for all the kind words! Keep em coming, LOL.
Questions
Kingcutter, will almost certainly be std oversize 28.6 31.7 and just usual braze ons if geared, no guard eyes etc though.
Col has been fixed, yes could do any effect and can paint name on etc with drop shadows and most other fancy techniques.
Steff, We can fillet braze 953 with bronze but this lowers the strength dramatically. 953 is very strong but you do lose a lot with that method it's just to hot. The best way to build 953 is to TIG weld it, this also allows us to build with any tube profiles. If we fillet braze 953 we still TIG it first then silver solder over the top this is the best and strongest way but it does cost more and take more time, but they are worth it!
Mr Smyth, Yes we still build with Deda but they get us a great tube set just how we want it and then they stop making certain tubes for no reason, they are frustrating, but their tubesets build great frames.
!Nhattattack! You can suppy your colour with a photo or just a rough drawing of how you want it or just a description if it's simple. I don't know how we'll short list or get everyone to view them though. What does everyone else think?
