Just tried A600 with my republics. They won't even clip in because the pads foul them. Anyone else experienced this?

Morning collective, been looking at these for a bit now. Do you think the leather or microfibre shoe is better? Are they suitable for wide feet? Thanks.

I've got the leather ones and really rare them. Laces make them perfect for wide feet imo. My feet are a little wide but if laces are loose there's bags of lateral space. Super adjustable too, only downside is you can't crank tightness up on the move (not that you can riding fixed anyway).
Can't comment on cleat issues. I've got Ritchey cleats pushed as wide as possible (for q-factor reasons) and no problems.

Good to hear. So the sole doesn't lip up round the foot box? My bonts do and it can get annoying after a few hours.

Does this help? Upper comes out over the top of the plastic sole. The plastic sole does curve gently but not up into the footbed - no intrusion at all.
Edit: I've explained it really poorly. Basically: no, it doesn't lip up at all.

Don't worry I understand. Cheers.

Anyone have the ones with canvas panels? How much water do they let in/have you managed to waterproof them in anyway?
No one seems to have the normal (ie canvas-lacking) shoes in stock anywhere. -

Eh. I went with the canvas sided ones. I think it's codura rather than a real canvas which is probably a good thing, hopefully it will do well!

Hi all. Thinking of taking the plunge with the lx republics too and twinning with a600's. I've seen some comments saying this is not a match made in heaven. Can anyone confirm or deny before I buy, please? Many thanks.

I have shimmed the cleats out by 2 mm and it works flawlessly.
Svims svould be hard plastic and as large as possible to prevent problems with normal mtb spd pedals. -

Really useful info, thank you so much. Shim it is.

Has anyone successfully repaired the little elastic thing which keeps laces tucked in on these? I've been wearing a pair of Civilas almost daily for two years and the elastic broke the other day - the stitching has just come away from the leather tongue. Looks like a pain to sort out, and it's pretty uncomfortable tucking laces into the sides of the shoe. Any other solutions?

Can you not just sew it back on?
Until then tuck your laces under under itself next to the elastic.

hi, maybe someone could help with Giro republic padding problem.
strangely i have 42.5 size republics. and one pad size is up to 40-43, another size from 43. maybe if someone could measure distance of walking pad bolts, it could help really much. thanks
btw giro customer service didn't communicate at all :D -

I have a set of 45s.
Bolt holes 43 mm, pad length 85 mm (inside front)
Bolt holes 57 mm, pad length 95 mm (outside front)
I can measure the heel pad if you want but describing the measurements may be tricky, I suspect those are universal.
i think you can adjust the wideness of the leather shoes with laces.
